My Professional Art

My passion is for Americana art, both in graphite as well as oil. I attempt to capture the heart and soul of small town America in my work. You can see some of my work under the professional gallery tab, where you'll find limited edition prints, original oil paintings, and portraits. 

My Teaching

From an instruction standpoint, my aim is to teach my students the art of illusion. Teaching someone "to see" is vastly different from teaching someone "to paint."  I subscribe to the former.

I want my students to "paint like professionals," whether they are 8 years old or 98. And I've had both ages in my classes. If you want to learn how to draw or how to paint, you can get that from a book. If you want to learn how to see, then I may be able to help you.

You can see some of their work under the student gallery tab. This is a new addition to the site and one I want to see grow on a monthly basis. If you're a student of mine, please send me photos of your finished work so I can get them on this site.
